About Samuel Best
Science Fiction Author

I was born in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and I grew up a mile from the gates of Kennedy Space Center. My grandmother built space shuttles, my father designed scientific equipment that flew on them, and I watched the launches from my rattling front porch, dreaming of the stars.
I recently spent three years traveling across our little blue-green marble in space, finding inspiration for my books in places like Ha Long Bay in Vietnam and the ice caves of Iceland.
My best-selling novel Mission One launched my career as a science fiction writer, and now I spend my time crafting new universes for you to explore.

My First Short Story
Title: “Dinosaur Family”
Medium: Crayon on Paper
Binding: Staple
Status: Out of Print
Well-received at the time due mostly to my young age, this obscure text was promptly relegated to a shoe box—along with my budding writing career—after a bike was discovered under the Christmas Tree.
2010
My First "Real" Short Story
“A Dream of Waking” is published. Even though my first few novels would be horror and fantasy, I wanted to make sure my first real story was science fiction.
It also went to space (and burned up into glorious stardust) aboard the doomed Astrobotic Peregrine Mission 1 in 2024.

The first book in the follow-up series to the Mission One Titan trilogy. It’s one of my favorites.

Void Space Begins
The culmination of all my sci-fi work to date, this series will build on and expand the universe of both the Titan and Galena trilogies.
