Riot Baton

A riot baton was often little more than a weighted stick with personalized additions such as nails driven through the wood or a sawblade mounted at the end. After the extinction of trees in the United States, the Elite Task Forces applied their usual technological innovation to the age-old weapon and designed an implement out of triple-hardened plexi that is as effective as it is elegant.

All newly-issued riot batons come equipped with small shock diodes along the length of their bodies. The diodes transmit a burst of low-grade shock energy to whatever they come into contact with. Striking a victim in the head results in immediate but temporary unconsciousness, making the baton an extremely effective weapon to use in large crowds.
